A Wonderful Day with the Casino Seniors Group

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the Casino Seniors Group to Club Evans RSL recently. The day was filled with wonderful stories, live music, and great company – a lovely reminder of what community is all about.

Our visitors kicked off the morning with morning tea before settling in for a fascinating talk from local identity Lil Collis, who shared stories and history of Evans Head spanning the war years through to the town’s fishing and sugar industries. Some wonderful old photographs accompanied the talk, bringing back plenty of warm memories of childhood holidays and visits to Evans Head over the decades.

Music, Lunch and Good Company

After the history talk, it was time for some live entertainment. Brendan and Lee from The Heartbeat kept everyone in great spirits with plenty of familiar songs to sing along to while guests enjoyed lunch. The atmosphere was warm and lively, with smiles all round.

We love welcoming visiting groups to Club Evans RSL and sharing a little of what makes Evans Head and the beautiful Richmond Valley such a special place. A heartfelt thank you to the Casino Seniors Group for spending the day with us – you are always welcome here.
