Today, Club Evans RSL pauses to commemorate Merchant Navy Day and honour the courage, service and sacrifice of Australia’s merchant mariners.

In times of war and peace, the Merchant Navy played a vital role in keeping our nation supplied and connected — often while facing extraordinary danger at sea. Their contribution, though sometimes overlooked, was essential to Australia’s resilience and survival.

We remember those who served, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and all who continue this proud maritime tradition.
