Evacuation Centre Update at Evans Head RSL:
The Evacuation Centre at Evans Head RSL is open 24 hours, staffed by the Department of Communities & Justice to assist those in need. The club will close at 10:00 PM and reopen at 10:00 AM tomorrow. The centre continues to operate overnight for those seeking shelter.
Weather Warning for Evans Head, Woodburn, and Broadwater:
Residents are advised to stay indoors, watch and act, and evacuate if directed due to expected flooding. Tropical Cyclone Alfred is approaching the southeast Queensland coast, bringing potential impacts such as damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and severe coastal hazards.
